In the heart of Oslo, Storgata 8 redefines the boundaries of contemporary architecture with a bold integration of design, technology, and functionality. WOOD-SKIN’s Tailor-Made Geode was instrumental in transforming both the building’s internal wall as well as its exterior façade, creating a seamless connection between inside and out.
The Tailor-Made Geode system is fabricated using a metal finish on Okoumè wood composite, lending the surfaces a refined yet industrial aesthetic. Strategically placed custom-designed holes punctuate the panels, allowing light to pass through in a captivating interplay of light and shadow. These openings are backed with plexiglass, ensuring durability while enhancing the visual effect both day and night.
WOOD-SKIN collaborated closely with architectural firm Kubik and builders to ensure the design intent was fully realized while optimizing installation efficiency. The result is a space that is not only visually stunning but also functionally superior, making Storgata 8 a standout example of modern architecture in Norway.
